microResidency#46 Roberto Equisoain
“Ahora”: microResidency by Roberto Equisoain (El Eki) at Candyland Gallery, Stockholm. Love Triangle microResidencies. 26th October 2013. 5pm (GMT+1).
This microResidency was part of the project Love Triangle microResidencies, developed in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Sweeden and curated by Miguel Guzmán Pastor with Mattias Larsson and Pacoco Gil.
Proposal sent by the artist:
Description: Installation on white wall, a collection of images of the broken glasses from cardboard boxes. The symbol warns it is a fragile content. About 100 images in different sizes, from 1x1cm to 20x20cm, set on the wall with double sized tape. Space needed: 2x2m (variable). Also a book (20x20cm, or many, depending on the amount of people attending the microResidency) with a tippex can next to it, on a table or stand. The book content will be able to be erased by the audience (some instructions will be given) and afterwards I will read the resultant text (up to 7 min). 2 hours to set it up + half an hour to strike.
Use of 20 crowns: Tippex cans.
Relation with audience: Public.
Recording: Full recording and Streaming needed.
Poet Roberto Equisoain “El Eki” (Pamplona/Berlín) creates both a double installation and an action blurring the edges between performance, graphic art, objet art and poetry. Throughout a wall installation built live, he displays a collection of found packaging cardboard pieces, including symbols of broken champagne cups or glasses in different sizes, shapes and colours.
Two books titled “Ahora” (Now) written by Roberto are displayed on two plinths. As their format is in accordion, the content “Ahora es el momento” (Now is the moment) is infinite, and Roberto let us erase what we wish to. (He calls this editions “The pleasure of erasing the text”).
After the erasing relational action, Eki performs a reading of the resulting work, concluding it with a speech (and using on it a few words apart from “bla”) dedicated to the Love Triangle microResidencies programme supporting organisations.
The rest of the microResidency time is used to undo the installation and let the space empty and clean for the next action, in this case the one by Heidi Edström.
A light, thorough and solid action.
