Espacio Islandia Interactions

In November Espacio Islandia starts interactions with other cultural spaces of Madrid.

Espacio Islandia begins a series of interactions with / to / from other art spaces, thus proposing the starting point of a map in which the relationship between space and artistic collective action may be materialized, causing a visible and solid artistic grid.

8, 9 and 10 November, 21h: Pilgrimage to Teatro Pradillo

Teatro Pradillo proposes to Espacio Islandia a very evocative pilgrimage action: Attend to the essential   INTRODUCTION TO INTRODUCTION, a performance that comes from the hand of Girona art collective Societat Doctor Alonso.

Tomás Aragay and Sofía Asencio build a language whose fundamental key is the concept of displacement. Place something out of its place, area or space itself, to investigate how language changes both constitutive grammar and the reading that an observer can do. Slide to unveal, creating spaces of poetic discourse which question the statu quo of our understanding of reality.

Societat Doctor Alonso: after founding with Roger Bernat the “Centro de creación General Elèctrica”, in 2002 Tomás Aragay, stage director, and Sofía Asencio, dancer and playwright, create Societat Doctor Alonso, an open and mutant core of artists, a space for creation, training and reflection about the scenic phenomenon. Currently the company takes part of Cèl.lula, Centro de Creación y Residencia, where has organized activities as the Festival MAPA, laboratory and research projects, or residences for other national and international artists.

13 November, 19-22h: Interaction in streaming with Espacio Cruce

Miguel Guzmán Pastor presents its performance in process TERNURA Y ZARPAZO under the Laboratory of stage practice that begins on Tuesday at Espacio Cruce. The action will take place in direct interaction via skype and streaming, breaking scales of time and space, multiplying the possibilities of relationship between the two spaces and generating multiple meetings with participants of two simultaneous calls: in the case of Espacio Islandia, the workshop Dibuja y Acciona will be integrated into the proposal to map real time interaction caused through drawing, gesture or word.

16 November, 17-20h: CONFERMANCE / Pilgrimage from Facultad de Bellas Artes to Espacio Islandia (Complementary Actions)

CONFERMANCE

Clues: It will be built a living installation with voice and will be moved from the exhibition hall of the faculty to Espacio Islandia, being registered the process in motion and generating a micro documentary tribute to the continuous displacement, search and capture of art in times of uncertainty.

Suscription: Send mail indicating activity title, name, phone, email, and links to the university address vicedecanato@art.ucm.es. People who register will be committed to participate in full action, from start to finish. Your support is vital for the development of performance and serve to explain and draw conclusions about the public response about participating or relational art.

Coordinated by Miguel Guzmán Pastor in association with Soraya García Aldea.
